Think Architecture!
July 12th, 2010Always dreamt to be an architect, but somehow ended up with a BA in English. Okay, I know life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans, still have this little unrealized passion that's bugging me and makes me watch Grand Designs
.
Another drop of a healing balm to my sad heart
is that I can actually ... wear some architectural masterpieces. Architects and jewellery designers realized long ago that some stone tile, stained glass windows or wrought iron patterns of some ancient temple can be even a better inspiration to create fabulous bracelets, necklaces and pendants. Some pieces deserve not only to be worn but they are just beautiful on their own and can be simply put on display to marvel.
"Magic happens here"
– that's what I would have written on the signboard of the master who can feel and elegantly interpret architectural aura into stunning collections of jewellery. And if you are a do-it-yourself disciple and once in a while enjoy creating jewellery at home, just look around. Beautiful designs and patterns can be within your arm's reach or under your feet, literally.
Soon I'll be traveling to the Crimea to have the best two weeks of doing nothing (naive, I know). But planning to visit a couple of places with interesting architecture and friendly jewellery boutiques. Hopefully, I will have a chance to feast my eyes on some luscious things there. Yum, yum.
