Hallmark prices plummet, jewellery buyers turn to cheaper alternatives
March 19th, 2009Hallmark prices(*) took a big drop since last year. For example, if we compare January 2009 to January 2008, the changes are as follows:
22ct Gold dropped 35.6%
18ct Gold dropped 39.6%
14ct Gold dropped 42.5%
9ct Gold dropped 56.2%
Platinum dropped 22.6%,
however silver only dropped 7.8%
This figures only confirm the recent market trend of shoppers going for cheaper jewellery alternatives instead of more expensive fine gold and platinum jewellery. People are still interested in beautiful things, but just have less cash to spare. Fashion jewellery comes at a fraction of the price that you would pay for the similar fine jewellery item, but looks pretty much the same. Unless you are a fine jewellery collector and loaded with cash, in the current economy climate it makes perfect sense to save your finances and buy gold and rhodium plated jewellery from Avalaya.
